Ilustra de cãozinho da raça Shih Tzu feita com lápis de cor.

Seu nome é Billy e ele é o cachorro de estimação de uma prima da minha namorada. Esse final de semana foi o casamento dela e o Billy entrou com as alianças de roupa de gala e tudo. Seu eu soubesse disso antes, o teria feito de terninho. Bom... Mas nada impede que eu o faça novamente com um novo look.

Hello everybody!

That's an illustration of a Shih Tzu dog made with colored pencils.

Its name is Billy and it's the pet of my girlfriend's cousin. She married last week and this likeable dog entered on the church dressing black tie and carrying the wedding rings. Maybe I'll make another version of it, but this time more elegant. What you think?

Good Night 11-11-11

Olá pessoal, tudo bem?

Como todos já devem estar cansados de saber, o dia 11-11-11 causou uma certa polêmica mundo à fora. Eu estava quietinho no meu canto, fazendo uns estudos de luz e sombra e depois de tanto ouvir as pessoas criando teorias sobre o assunto, eu resolvi unir o útil ao agradável e deixar a minha singela contribuição para relembrarmos desse dia cabalistico.

Já que eu não postei nada no Halloween, essa ilustra já fica valendo para ele também!

Helo everybody!

As everybody knows, today (11-11-11) was a polemic day around the world. And then that I've passed the whole day listening theories of the people about this subject I've decided to do my contribution in order to remember this cabalistic day.

As I didn't do anything thinking about the Halloween, you can consider this as a drawing in honor of Halloween too.

Well, as happens in all the cabalistic days, the people are hysterical and the day ends without anything happening.

Utada Hikaru - Digital painting study

Olá pessoal! Tudo bem?

Enfim voltei e dessa vez com mais um estudo de pintura digital!

Pra quem não conhece a moça, ela se chama Utada Hikaru e é uma cantora de J-Pop muito famosa não somente no Japão, é bem conhecida do público brasileiro e americano também. Pra quem não sabe a música de abertura do jogo Kingdom Hearts, chamada Hikari, é dela.

Nesse estudo o objetivo era usar um tipo de pincel mais duro e que tivesse uma aparência seca, como a de tinta acrílica por exemplo. Algo totalmente diferente do que fiz no post anterior.

O mais interessante e desafiador desse trabalho foi fazer o retrato de uma mulher com traços delicados usando essa técnica de pincéis duros e texturizados. Algo quase inconcebível para um chato de galocha perfeccionista como eu, que tive de soltar o traço na marra. De vez em quando me pegava alisando demais o desenho, mas superei o trauma e sabe que eu até gostei.

Farei mais trabalhos nesse estilo daqui por diante! É uma promessa!

Hello everybody!

That's a digital painting study I've made using a picture of the J-pop singer Utada Hikaru as reference. For those who don't know, the opening song of the game Kingdom Hearts, called Hikari, was composed and sung by her.

In this work I used a Photoshop brush more texturized, completely diferente of what I did in the illustration of the last post. I have to confess that draw using a texturized brush in a girl so delicate was a little bit challenging for a boring perfectionist guy like me. I had to paint it of an unpretentious way and I ended up liking it.

I going to do more works like this hereafter. That's a promisse!

Hellboy

Olá pessoal!

Depois de muitas horas na frente do computador, que me proporcionaram dores nas costas, ombros, olhos, calos nos dedos, além de ter contribuído satisfatoriamente no processo de achatamento da minha bunda, enfim concluí essa ilustra, que foi de longe, a mais trabalhosa e desafiadora que já fiz (até o presente momento).

Esse Hellboy foi o meu primeiro exercício de pintura digital que fiz para o curso de Ilustração Digital na Quanta e foi feita toda digitalmente.

Gostei muito de trabalhar com esse estilo de pintura e espero melhorar cada vez mais.

Obrigado àqueles que comentam, apenas olham, indicam ou que de alguma forma contribuem para a divulgação do meu trabalho.

Abração e espero que gostem do diabão do bem!!!!

Hello everybody!

After many hours in front of the computer, I got back pain and shoulder, eyes, calloused fingers, and satisfactorily I sped the process of flattening of my ass. But in compensation I finally got to finish this illustration which was the most laborious and challenging that I've did (to the present).

This "Helboy illustration" was the first exercise of digital painting which I've did in the Digital Illustration lessons of Quanta (a famous school of illustration and comics in Brazil) and which was totally done in photoshop.

I really enjoyed to practice this technique of digital painting and I hope improve my skills day by day.

Já faz quase um mês que não atualizo isso aqui e como só costumo postar trabalhos finalizados, resolvi fazer algo diferente. Achei interessante fazer deste site um sketch blog de verdade, com idéias, esboços e como nesse post, trabalhos em andamento.

Bom.. eu apenas gostaria de compartilhar o processo criativo e/ou de execução de alguns dos meus trabalhos.

I usually post only completed works in this blog and because of this it hasn't any update about 1 month or more. I thought that would be interesting sometimes turn this site in a real sketch blog, where I could post ideas, sketches and works in progress, as I did in this post.

Un amour pour la vie

      

Olá a todos!

Esse é um post muito especial pra mim, pois ontem (dia 31/08) eu e minha namorada Açu Aizawa completamos 6 anos de namoro!!! Sim... 6 longos anos, mas que parecem ter passado muito rápido.

Lembro como se fosse ontem o dia em que nos conhecemos. Eu disse a ela que seus olhos eram lindos e  isso não foi uma cantada barata não, eu realmente fiquei impressionado com sua beleza. Mas ainda não sabia que ela era ainda mais bela por dentro.

Desde o dia em que essa garota linda entrou em minha vida, tudo tem sido diferente. Aprendi a ver a vida com outros olhos. Sonhando sempre, mas mantendo os pés no chão.

Ela é meu ponto de apoio, minha inspiração, minha amante e melhor amiga.

Obrigado por aguentar a minha dislexia, indecisão, perfeccionismo e sonolência durante os últimos 6 anos!!!

Você deve ter jogado pedra na cruz pra merecer isso... =D

Hello everybody!

That's a special post for me, because yesterday (August, 31th), my girlfriend Açu Aizawa and I celebrated 6 years of dating!!! Yes, six long years have passed, but for me, seems to have happened very fast. I remember like yesterday the day I've met her. I've told her that her eyes were beautiful. This wasn't a pick up line, I was really impressed with its beauty. But I still didn't know she was even more beautiful inside.

Since the day this pretty girl appeared in my life, all the things have changed. I learned to see the life with another point of view. I continue dreaming, of course, but keeping my feet on the ground.

She is my foundation, my inspiration, my lover and my best friend.

Thanks a lot for tolerate my dyslexia, indecision, perfectionism, narcolepsy for over the last 6 years!!!

You must have thrown stones on the holy cross for deserve this life... =D

Olá pessoal!

Essa é a ilustração que fiz para a capa do EP de estréia da banda paulistana Lunatik. Pra mim, foi um grande desafio fazer esse trabalho, aprendi demais com ele e tive de estudar muito pra conseguir chegar ao resultado que estão vendo. Ele é tão especial pra mim quanto a banda e seus integrantes também são.

Ps: O logotipo da banda também foi criado por mim.

Hello everybody!!!

That's the illustration which I've made for the brazilian rock band called Lunatik, in order to use it in the cover of his debut EP. It was a great challenge for me to do this work, I've learned a lot doing that. I've had to study hard to get this final result, what is very important for my career, which is just starting. For me, this work is as special as the affection I have for the band and its members.

Homem-Grilo/Cricket Man

Olá a todos!

Esse é um post que faço em homenagem ao Super-Herói mais querido da minha querida cidade - Osasco (cidadezinha, que algumas pessoas com dor de cotovelo dizem ser do interior, mas que fica na grande São Paulo). Só poderia estar falando do Homem-Grilo. Por quê? Oras, porque ele é um Super-Herói local, uma figura notável, nascido e criado em Osasco City. O Grilo, criação de Cadú Simões e Ricardo Marcelino, ocupa o seu dia-a-dia combatendo um bando de vilões mais vis e esquisitos que os do Batman e do Homem-Aranha juntos. Ele seria um Herói perfeito se não fosse pelo seu, digamos, peculiar medo de baratas. Sim meus amigos... baratas. Ninguém é perfeito, nem mesmo o Homem-Grilo. Mas temos que reconhecer o seu valor, pois ele veio para colocar o nome de Osasco City entre o das grandes metrópoles mundiais atacadas por Super-Vilões, como Nova Iorque ou Gotham City e não apenas citá-la em caravanas de programas de auditório ou em programas de comédia barata, como vem acontecendo com certa frequência.

Hi everybody!

That post is a homage to the greatest Super Hero of my beloved city - Osasco (some people say that Osasco is a countryside city, but it's an mistake, because it is located nearby São Paulo - Brazil). His name is Cricket Man or Homem-Grilo in portuguese.

What is the reason for the homage? The reason is that Cricketman is natural of Osasco City, he was born and grew up in that amiable city and nowadays he live here fighting against villains more weird and dangerous than the villains of Batman and Spiderman together.

The only Cricket man's defect is a peculiar fear of cockroachs. Yes, it's not a joke. He have a ridiculous fear of cockroach, although he not to admit this.

Well... Forget this. The great fact is that our Hero came to the world in order to write the name of Osasco City among of the other great names of world-wide metropoles that has been attacked by Super Villains as happens with New York or Gotham City for example. Instead of cite his name only in the TV shows and cheap comedy programs, as has been happening nowadays.

Cupcakes - Shame on you

Recentemente fiz esse estudo de aquarela, sob os olhares atentos da Açu Aizawa e achei interessante compartilhar com vocês leitores desse humilde blog. Apesar de ser iniciante nessa técnica, estou gostando muito de praticá-la.
Sobre o tema, bom... como os Cupcakes são a sensação do momento, resolvi homenageá-los e ao mesmo tempo praticar um pouco de técnicas tradicionais de pintura. Só faltou um desses pra eu devorar enquanto pintava.

Recently I did this study of watercolor, under the watchful eye of Açu Aizawa and I thought that was interesting sharing it with you, readers of this humble blog. Despite of I'm starting in the studies of this technique, I'm appreciating a lot the practicing of it.
Talking about the theme of the painting, well... as the Cupcakes are the new sensation, I've decided make an tribute for them and at same time practicing a traditional painting technique. The problem is that I was getting crazy of craving to eat a cupcake and not had none. Too bad.

Fala meu povo! Ainda não havia dado as caras por aqui nesse ano, atitude da qual eu não me orgulho nem um pouco. Por conta disso, me vi obrigado a postar uma ilustra a qual me orgulho bastante. Pra dar uma equilibrada na situação, entende? hehe
O motivo desse auê todo foi ter tido a honra de participar (a convite do Doug), em meio a tantos artistas fo***  da galeria MDM #300, do site de entretenimento Melhores do Mundo, destinado a massa nerd desse Brasil Varonil.
A Galeria MDM é um espaço reservado aos leitores do blog, eles podem fazer desenhos, que envolvam os personagens do universo MDM e a cada 100 galerias, o site promove uma galeria especial, propõe um tema e convida artistas para executá-lo.
A proposta da galeria a qual participei era fazer uma ilustra inspirada em posters de filmes, capas de revistas, CD's e afins, deveria ser algo marcante, de maneira que os leitores do site conseguissem reconhecer a referência utilizada e é claro, os personagens do site deveriam aparecer.
Choveram ilustras fazendo referência a capas clássicas de hq's, o que foi muito bacana, mas também tiveram aqueles que se inspiraram em capas clássicas de filmes e CD's também, entre outros gêneros.
A minha contribuição foi usar a capa do CD "Creatures of the Night" do Kiss como referência. O resultado ficou bacana e um tanto quanto inusitado.

Hi everyone! I've not posted here this year, and that's an attitude which I'm not pround. Because of this, I felt compelled to post an illustration that I'm pround. In order to balance the situation, you know?
The reason to the "proud history" is that I had the honor to participate (invited by Doug) of the gallery #300 of MDM website, midst of great artists. MDM means "Melhores do Mundo" which in english is translated to something like "Bests of the world". Melhores do Mundo is an entertainement website which was created to the brazilian geek crowd.
The MDM gallery was created specially for the website readers. It's a space where they can post illustrations about the characters of the website. After 100 editions of the gallery, an special one is created by the website, a specific theme is purposed and artists are invited to do it.
The purpose of the gallery #300 was that each artist needed to inspire in any famous cinema poster, CD cover and magazines, something like that, in order to create an illustration where the MDM characters are the central focus.
Many of the illustrations were inspired in famous covers of american comics, and that was cool, some artists prefered inspire yourself in cimena posters, CD covers and another genres too. That was my case, the illustration to top was inspired on the famous cover of the Kiss album "Creatures of the Night".
I think that the final result was interesting and somewhat unexpected.
